'Timely Rhymes'

Write poetry? I couldn’t possibly do that I’m not a literary type.

 My answer to that as a non-literary type is “You don’t have to be all knowing of language to speak and be understood” and “You don’t have be an author to write”. Many Children in the United Kingdom begin to learn to read and write from four years old. With the right encouragement they can learn fast and furiously. All aspects of learning is important to a human being and communication is the bedrock of human growth. Of course that is my opinion and communication has served me well.

But! Writing poetry?

For me, it is what I dare to do. I believe it is my inner honesty surfacing without my permission and when I look back on them I read other messages.

How to begin?

You write a poem or two and maybe a few rhymes. You mention them in conversation and others tell you that they do that too. Then you read theirs, they read yours and before you know it you get new ideas and write loads more.

Timely Rhymes is where I look back and try to discover the very best of what I have written to date.

Fifteen hundred rhymes to review is going to take a lot of reviewing.
